Glenugie Kennels & Cattery (GLENUGIE BOARDING KENNELS LIMITED)
Terms & Conditions for Boarding & Residential Training.
All owners are requested to sign these terms and conditions before their pet can be accepted at Glenugie Kennels. Thank you.
1. The owner warrants that the animal(s) are in a fit and healthy condition. It is your responsibility to inform us of any medical conditions your pet may have.
2. All cats and dogs being boarded are required to have up to date vaccinations with certificates required upon arrival, otherwise boarding will be refused. All vaccinations must be valid at least 14 days prior to boarding and must cover the whole boarding term. Cats are to be vaccinated against Feline Enteritis and Cat Flu. Dogs are to be vaccinated against Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parvovirus and Kennel Cough.
3. Whilst every care will be given to pets, Glenugie Kennels will not be held responsible for any illness, injury, loss or damage to the animal(s) or their belongings, however caused, during their stay. Boarding is entirely at the owners risk. By signing this document you authorise Glenugie Kennels to take immediate action and seek veterinary care for your animal, regardless of the cause, if we determine this is necessary. Glenugie Kennels will endeavour to use the vet that the animal is registered with but if this is not possible or it is an emergency situation, Glenugie Kennels will determine the vet to be used. We will endeavour to contact the owner or the emergency contact via the details you have supplied.
4. Glenugie Kennels are authorised to call your veterinary practice should we need any information regarding your pets condition.
5. We do not insure for your pets illness or any other medical conditions whilst in our care. Therefore, any further expenses will be charged to the owner. By signing this agreement, you agree to cover any costs that may arise from veterinary treatment, and we reserve the right to charge reasonable transport expenses to and from the vet. We may call you from the vet’s surgery to arrange payment before treatment commences if necessary.
6. If we find a Tick on your pet, if possible we will remove them safely. If we feel this cannot be achieved we will contact you or the emergency contact to discuss further treatment options with the assistance of the vets practice.
7. You need to provide us with a minimum of one emergency contact for the duration of your pets stay. The contact needs to be able to provide your pet with emergency accommodation should a situation arise where we are no longer able to keep them with us e.g. your pet doesn’t settle and becomes increasingly stressed or becomes ill, etc. As we will strive to do our utmost beforehand, please be assured that this is a last resort. Please be aware that should we have to pass your pet on the full price for the duration booked will still apply.
8. Any bedding, toys, medication, or personal items supplied by the owner that are damaged or destroyed during boarding, are left at the owners risk.
9. All reasonable efforts will be made to administer oral, rectal, and topical medication and treatments as directed by the owner, for which there is no charge. However, if veterinary assistance is required it will be at the owners expense.
10. When making a booking into Glenugie Kennels, your booking is not confirmed until we have received the agreed deposit. We will ask you for full payment or a deposit at the time of booking. We do not accept cheques. Any booking cancelled within 21 days prior to the
arrival date will receive a full refund. Any bookings cancelled after 21 days will be refunded subject to the number of bookings we can replace. Therefore you may not be refunded in full. However we will do our best to help in certain situations as all cancellations are at the discretion of Glenugie Kennels. Bookings cannot be transferred to a later date.
11. If you collect your pet early you will still be charged for the original booking. If your holiday plans are extended, we will do our utmost to accommodate your pet at an added cost. Most holiday insurance should cover such eventualities (including cancellations) but please check to make sure.
12. Boarding fees will be charged per night, but the animal must be picked up before 12pm to allow us to sanitise and prepare the kennel for our next guest, otherwise you may be charged extra.
13. You must disclose to us if your pet has any aggressive tendencies either towards humans and/or other animals. If we feel that your pet poses a threat to our kennel staff then we reserve the right to refuse to board your animal or, if this occurs during their stay, your emergency contact may be required to accommodate your pet. Should this circumstance arise, please be aware the full price for the duration booked will still apply and no refund given. Dangerous pets will be removed from Glenugie Kennels with immediate effect.
14. All animals in Glenugie’s care will be exercised in the appropriate areas. Whilst the utmost care will be given to the animals, we cannot be responsible for any injuries.
15. All animals at Glenugie Kennels are housed at the owners risk and we will do our best to keep your pet secure however, we cannot be liable for the theft of your animal should such an eventuality occur.
16. In the worst possible event that your pet dies during its time with us, please be advised that we cannot be held responsible, but rest assured we will go above and beyond the call of duty to be with them if at all possible.
17. Animals that are in for training will be handled with meticulous care and to the best of our ability. We understand that each dog is individual and no one technique is suitable for all dogs. Therefore we will strive to find a happy balance for your pet but cannot always guarantee perfect results every time.
